FINE FOOT RETENTION FRIDAYS

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Huzzah! Dave from Brisbane Outdoor has sent us a happy little package of the nicest handmade pedal straps the world has ever seen. The now infamous BO Gear ” strap ons” have been such a popular item that they are normally all gone before we get a chance to put them up on here, so dont miss out, come grab some today. If you ride fixed and are sick of having nothing to hold your tootsies to the pedals whilst spinning like a demon and hate the look and feel of traditional steel toe cage style straps, then the BO gears are the answer you have been looking for. For $55 how can you go wrong.

They are some strapping  straps.

Dave Cs well worn examples strapped up to some well worn Hamilton Plastic pedals. Those two items go together like peanut butter and ladies.

What a combo. Dave C is the leader of todays fashions. Halfcabs and an Italian Fixie conversion along with an awesome pedal and strap combo make him the ruler of the world! If you just vomited due to excess amounts of cheese in this post then get used to it, cause our blog is set to sail the seas of cheese yew!

THE ANSWER IS THE BLUE FALCON!

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Before you say anything I am aware this bike is not a Schwinn from 1999. This is simply a tribute to both a fine looking BMX bicycle built for racing and trails and one of the greatest riders of all time-Brian Foster. This is the new ED- Blue colourway of the ever popular Proper TTL. Aint she a peach. Built up with a nice subtle blend of chrome, black and polished alloy this bird is ready to fly in a classic style that Mr BF would be proud of. Featuring Superstar forks, Proper TTXL bars and top load stem along with Twenty Reverse cranks ,Deluxe 25t sprocket, Twenty hubs laced to chrome Sun Rhinolite rims and Odyssey tires and pivotal seat. All this can be yours for $1399. WOWzers!

Now that I have talked about our lovely new steed, I can talk to you about the man named after a big bird from Newcastle………The Blue Falcon. Earlier in the year I was privileged enough to get a couple of rides in with him at fivedock and at the trails. He has been a big influence for me growing up as a little racer kid who also rode parks and trails, I felt like an idiot asking for his autograph after riding with him for hours, but he was down.

So psyched on this little baddie.

In 1999 Schwinn released the Blue Falcon a trails and race frame made from good ole 4130 cro mo. I wanted one of these so bad, Propers new Blue colourway just reminded me of this beast of the past.

I apologise for such a rant all for the sake of one new custom, but you cant tell me it wasnt worth it. BF is the man.

THE COPPER PROPER HAS A NEW HOME

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

One of our favourite custom builds yet ” The Copper Proper” was purchased on the weekend. Normally I would be happy to get a good ole sale under my belt but im a little sad to this pretty machine go. Luckily it went to local ripper and good dude Matty the shovel master of St Peters.

Pretty as a picture, and believe it or not it is not from Helensvale. We did it first I believe ha ha.

Thats quite a receipt you got there Matty.Look at his face, how exited is he, im actually a little scared right now at how exiited he is. How will we top such a pretty build. Tom is in the workshop as I type building something tasty. Check back tomorrow for pics. Hint: Think a large extinct bird native to Newcastle and One of the primary colours, I know it sounds cryptic but once you see it you will be like “Oh yeah i get it ” trust me.

HELL ON WHEELS/ROADTRIPZ DIRTPIPE

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Red Bull put on one hell of shindig last week. I was lucky enough to get the weekend off and travel down with a bunch of mates on Jason Cousins bus. Jason is going to start doing regular BMX trips around the country so check out his website for the latest. If your after a fun, chilled out and relaxing way to see the country with your mates, Roadtripz.com.au will be able to sort you out.

The caravan park we stayed in was so serene. Completely surrounded by mountains and nothing but the sounds of wildlife and the river flowing by. We also got the sweetest little cabin, creature comforts galore!
