PROJECT MOTOMAG!!

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

I damn near crapped myself when our buddy Michael came in with a present for us. His original 1976 Mongoose Motomag which he has had since new. He has recently decided to get busy and fully restore his childhood ride. Michael has not messed about with this restoration and has gotten everything which was chrome re- chromed, everything that was painted re- painted, he even got the motomags bead-blasted to bring them back to their former glory. All i can say is that i feel privileged to be the guy who gets to put it all back together again, and cant wait to get stuck into it. Since Hell On Wheels opened 2 and a half years ago i have been lucky enough to work on loads of rad pieces of BMX history, but this one is the best yet. Look out for pics of the finished product in weeks to come.

Shiny shiny!

Friday, March 26th, 2010

After quite a lengthy absence from the store, we now have some colony products back in and boy is it fancy! Rad new colourways and rad new products galore.

First up is the Gnar Kill frame. Formerly the Bloody Oath, this new version of Richos signature frame is a class act folks. It features full post weld heat treated cro mo tubing, removable brake hardware, CNC machined headtube, built in seat clamp.

Nice touch with the skull logo machined out of the headtube. 21 red in stock now for $529

Up close and personal, the Teddy frame looks awesome in the purple storm colourway, and with a neat machined logo in the headtube, how can one go wrong?

Also on the colony front, we have some bloody fantastic plastic pedals!

IM NOT GONNA LIE TO YOU… THIS IS GOING TO GET WIERD…………..2 DRAGONS!!!!!

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

On only his third day at Hell On Wheels, Dave was so excited to be here that he had to build himself up a new rig. This pretty red beauty had been looking at him the whole time until he could no longer take it. This proper TTL is definitely one of the nicer frames out there. As my red Deluxe already had the name “The Red Dragon” ,it just seemed right to call Daves TTL “Puff” ( The Magic Dragon). You see now there actually is two dragons in the house, and if you have seen Starsky and Hutch you will appreciate this photo.

” Arch your back and look back at me ….mean…like a dragon……but keep it mean”

DUMMY CAT DOS- THE MEXICAT THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Come on down to Hyde Park on Saturday night if you are looking for a good time on two wheels. Our dude Andy has put lots of work into this night of fun. For those who are unfamiliar with alley cat races, it is pretty much a skavenger hunt in the city on bikes. Similar to the Amazing Race on TV ,you get a map and have to make it to check points and do random tasks on your bike. There is usually drinking ,laughing and sweet skids  a plenty. This event is NOT reserved only for Fixed gear riders and is open to any one on any bike. I personally will be aboard the old faithful BMX. The theme for the night is Mexican so dress up in you favourite sombrero and be prepared for good times and i also hear rumours of a finish line pinata (spelling?) .Start time is 7.30 pm at the War memorial in Hyde park hope to catch you there.
