STAY FIT!

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Possibly one of the most anticipated videos in BMX history is finally almost here. Hell On Wheels will be hosting the Sydney premiere of Stay Fit on Friday the 13th of November at the Alexandria Hotel. The movie will be showing at about 7.30-8.00pm. This is an all ages affair but remember it is at a pub, so the under 18s will be getting wristbands and the rest of us old folk can get our beer on. The Alexandria hotel has a large out door courtyard where the movie will be screened, and the pub is cool enough to let us bring bikes inside, so we dont have to worry about thieves. This is going to be rad people so make sure you remember to come along.

The pub is located at the corner of Henderson Rd & Garden St Alexandria. Its only a couple of blocks from Redfern station and only a 5 minute pedal from us in Newtown. Remember Friday the 13th! Check the flyer for more details and if you get one, bring it in for 10% off your next purchase… See you there!

Now that daylight savings is back on so are the Sunday afternoon trail sessions. It’s a glorious time of year people, so get out there and have fun. To celebrate here is an awesome video I just found of mutiny shredders and stars of ” Lets Get Mystical” Tom Robinson and Matt Rowe having an amazing session at Robbos villij trails. Enjoy.

PARTY LIKE ITS 1992!

When i found out that S&M were doing a re-issue of the original Holmes frame i damn near pooped myself.Although the original version of this frame was a couple years before my time i still had to have one.Chris Moeller needs to be credited for pretty much setting the standard of good, well built and well designed frames. Before S&M came along most people would be riding horrible race GTs or wacky early 90s haro sports with built in bash guards. The Holmes was also one of the first frames with a 21 inch toptube, before that most frames were 20 or under (more like 18.5) .Needles to say i was pretty excited when the frames turned up last week.I have been on the scavenger hunt for period correct parts ever since.

The chrome one is mine and Matty opted for the classic S&M yellow.Watch out for these baddies to be complete in the near future.

Dave Clymer was one of the raddest and most looked up to riders of the early 90s.Here aboard his OG Holmes on one of the coolest BMX cover shots ever.

LANCE MOUNTAIN RULES

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Stumbled across this gem the other day on inthegnar.com and had to post it.If you ignore the fact that Lance is on a modern board and looks a little older than he did in future primitive, this shot could have been taken back in the day.Rad
